A visit to Andrea and Fritz
A few weeks ago, I was on the road again. Together with my favorite photographer Angelika and my Fibershed DACH intern Marcia, I visited a farm in the Lucerne region. On Fritz and Andrea's organic farm, there are about 40 cows and cattle, 20 sheep, chickens, and a few cats.
The farm is part of the Ueli Hof producer community, an organic butcher shop in Central Switzerland that prioritizes animal welfare and responsible practices. In inspiring and moving conversations with Andrea, we talked about life as a farmer's wife, the constant dependence on weather and climate, and the challenges this entails. We also discussed biodiversity and how many people often lack awareness of how complex and vital our ecosystems are.
After such excursions, I always return home with a full heart. And I am absolutely delighted when Angelika's photos arrive.
