The Future of Leather Goods - Alicia and Nina in Conversation with VORN

The interview with Magdalena Schaffrin and Alicia at VORN was published today. We discussed the shortcomings of the global leather industry and why we envision the future in regional, regenerative leather production, rather than in the innovation of 'vegan' synthetic leather. In the interview, we emphasize that leather is sustainable when produced responsibly, regionally, and with sustainable tanning agents.

During our conversation, we naturally also discussed our mission and the production of roe deer and red deer leather. Magdalena inquired whether it was ethically justifiable to utilize the hides of wild animals.

In our view, it is not only ethically justifiable but also our ethical responsibility. In a world where resources are becoming increasingly scarce, it is crucial to utilize existing circular materials instead of incinerating them.
