Leather Workshop Switzerland: Knowledge, Craftsmanship, and Genuine Insights
What makes leather sustainable? How is it produced, and how can it be worked with responsibly? In an era where terms like “genuine leather” or “sustainable” are often used arbitrarily, we prioritize one thing: transparency. Only by understanding the origin and processing of leather can one make informed choices – whether as a consumer, designer, or business.
Why we offer leather workshops
Leather is a fascinating material – durable, versatile, and steeped in history. However, its origin is often invisible. This is precisely where our leather workshops in Switzerland come in: We aim not only to inform, but to foster understanding – for processes, supply chains, and their interconnections.
Leveraging our deep expertise in agriculture, craftsmanship, and design, we offer programs that foster a genuine understanding of materials – honestly, accessibly, and practically. Our aim is to challenge outdated perceptions, debunk myths, and open up new perspectives.
Workshop Series 'Path of Leather' – in collaboration with MARAI
We are particularly proud of our cooperation with the Swiss label MARAI: "Path of Leather" is a workshop series that takes you on a very special journey – from the pasture to the finished product.
In small groups, we open up places that would otherwise remain closed:
You visit farms and learn about animal husbandry and cycles.
At the tannery, you will experience how raw hide is transformed into leather.
In our studio, you create your own piece – with your hands, your heart, and your new knowledge.
These leather workshops in Switzerland are more than just an event; they are an invitation to observe, co-create, and ask questions.
Upcoming Event: “From Tanning to Designing” on August 28, 2025

Leather knowledge in three modules
Our three modules offer you the opportunity to understand leather in its full depth – from origin to application, from overview to detail. Designed for anyone who wants to create consciously, make informed decisions, or acquire new knowledge – whether as a private individual, designer, or company.
The modules were developed and are led by Nina Conrad, founder of Regionales Leder, a sustainability expert and consultant for textile and animal supply chains. With her many years of experience in agriculture, craftsmanship, and design, she builds bridges between theory and practice, demonstrating what it truly means to understand leather.
“Whoever works with leather takes on responsibility. Knowledge is the first step.” – Nina Conrad
Each module can be booked individually or as part of a series – online or on-site, flexibly tailored to your needs.
Would you like to delve deeper, plan a workshop, or are you interested in a lecture, panel, or collaborative format? We look forward to your inquiry and to sharing knowledge, opening perspectives, and shaping new paths together with you.
